Manually Linking an Existing PSA Project to Jira

If you use PSA Direct for Jira, you can manually link existing PSA projects to Jira projects or Jira issues. This can be useful if:

  • Your PSA projects and Jira projects or issues were set up before you started using the integration.
  • One department in your company manages PSA projects, and a different department manages Jira projects or issues.
  • You do not want to automatically create Jira projects or issues from PSA projects.
Note:

Depending on how the integration is set up in your org, PSA projects are either mapped to Jira projects or Jira issues. This means that you can link your PSA to Jira projects, or you can link your PSA projects to Jira issues of a predetermined type. You cannot have a mix of the two.

Warning:

You can only link a single PSA project to a single Jira project or Jira issue. You must not enter the same Jira Correlation ID for multiple PSA projects.

To manually link a PSA project to a Jira project or issue:

  1. Navigate to the Projects tab.
  2. Open the project that you want to link to Jira.
  3. Depending on the how the integration is set up in your, enter one of the following in the Jira Correlation ID field:
    • If PSA projects are mapped to Jira projects, enter the ID of the Jira project. For example, 10010. For more information on how to get the ID of a Jira project, see the Jira Knowledge Base.
    • If PSA projects are mapped to Jira issues, enter the ID of the Jira issue. For example, 10186. For more information on how to get the ID of a Jira issue, see the Jira Knowledge Base.
  4. Click Save. The PSA project is now linked to the Jira project or Jira issue.
  5. [Optional] If the relevant feature is enabled, the integration can automatically sync future changes made to the PSA project with Jira. To enable this, depending on how projects are mapped to Jira, perform the steps described in one of the following:
