Intersect Definition Fields

Here is a description of the fields that make up an intersect definitionClosed Defines the storage of actual period balances..

Key: * – Mandatory field; A, B and C are mutually exclusive. B options are cumulative.
The number indicates the number of characters that are allowed in this text field, where appropriate.

Field     Description
Accounting Book     Lookup to the accounting book associated with this intersect definition. This field is only available if you have enabled the Multi-Book Accounting feature using Feature Console.
Core Accounting Code C   This is a streamlined version of the Full Accounting Code, and indicates that you want to store a balance for all possible combinations of general ledger account and analysis dimensions that have been used on your transaction line items. Entity balances are not stored.
Dimension 1–4 B   Indicates that you want to store balances for up to four analysis dimensions.
Entity B   Indicates that you want to store balances at entity level.
Full Accounting Code A   Indicates that you want to store a balance for all possible combinations of general ledger accountClosed The general ledger will normally include general ledger accounts (GLAs) for items such as income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and reserves., entityClosed Collective term for the following predefined dimensions within your chart of accounts: account, product, bank account, and tax code. and analysis dimensionsClosed Custom objects that allow you to analyze the activity in your business in additional ways, such as by cost center, project, employee, or any other business entity important to you. that have been used on your transaction line items. This will record a balance for every combination used, and as such will provide a balance capable of producing a Trial Balance movement.
General Ledger Account B   Indicates that you want to store balances at general ledger account level.
Intersect Definition Name   80 Name of the intersect definition.
Local GLA B   Indicates that you want to store a balance in the selected local GLA, if your org is set up to allow financial reporting to different statutory bodies. See What is a Chart of Accounts Structure? for more information.
Update Secondary Balances     Indicates that you want the synchronization process to use this intersect definition when updating secondary balances. You can select this checkbox on more than one intersect definition. Remember to run a Balance Update Full Synchronization immediately after any change to this checkbox.

If you have selected more than one intersect definition to use when synchronizing reporting balances (in Mode 1), you must add a filter to your reporting definitions to choose which intersect definition to use.
