Managing Text Definitions

The text definition list page displays a list of text definitions in your current companyClosed The company in which you are working. This is represented by the company queue to which you, and new instances of objects you create, are assigned. and view. From this page, you can view detailed information and access other related information.

  • Choose a predefined view from the drop-down list to select the records to display. Alternatively, you can select Create New View to define your own list view.
  • Click a text definition name to view its details.
  • Click Edit to edit the text definition details.
  • Click New Text Definition to create a new text definition.
  • Click any column heading to sort the records using that column’s data.

Editing Text Definition Details

To update a text definition item, click Edit, and then change the fields you want to update. When you have finished, click Save. You can also click Save & New to save the current record and create another.

Note:

If a text definition has been used on an "In Progress" sales invoice or credit note, only the Heading and Text fields are editable. The remaining fields, including Name, are protected until all the related documents are posted.

Deleting Text Definitions

Note:

You cannot delete a text definition that is used on an "In Progress" sales invoice or credit note.

To delete a text definition:

  1. Once you have located the text definition that you want to delete on the home or list pages, click its name to display its detail page.
  2. Click Delete. A warning message is displayed.
  3. Click OK to confirm the deletion. The deleted record is moved to the recycle bin.
