Text Definition Fields

Here is a description of the fields that make up a text definition. Some of these fields might not be visible or editable at all times, or in all package combinations.

Key: R – Read-only; * – Mandatory field; P – Protected (no edit) while related "In Progress" documents exist.
The number indicates the number of characters that are allowed in this text field, where appropriate.

Field       Description
Allow Edit   P   If set, you want to allow the user to edit the text at run time.
Credit Note * P   Select one of the available options. This custom picklist must remain fixed. Do not add or amend its values.

If set to "Not Used", or "None", this item does not appear as an option in text selection lists when creating a sales credit note.

If set to "Allowed", this item will appear as an option in text selection lists when creating a sales credit note.

"Default" is like "Allowed" but also makes this text definition the default at run time. You can only specify one default for each text position (1–5) for each document type. One default for invoices/text position 1 and another for credit notes/text position 1, and so on.
Heading     80 The heading you want to print on the document, such as "Terms" or "Bank Details".
Invoice * P   Same options as described for credit notes, but applicable to sales invoices.
Name * P 80 Unique name for this text definition item. This text appears in selection lists at run time, but not on the resulting document.
Text *     The body of the text you want to print on the document. Press Return to start a new line. Formatting tags are not supported.
Text Position * P   Location of this type of text on the printed document (1–5). Text with a position value of 1 is printed above text of position 2 and so on. This custom picklist must remain fixed. Do not add or amend its values.
