Mapping Fields

Here is a description of the fields on the ClickLink Mapping page.

Key: * – Mandatory.

ClickLink Mapping Fields
Fields   Description
ClickLink Rule * The ClickLink rule to which the mapping relates.
Mapping ID   Identifier of the mapping.
Mapping Type * The type of ClickLink mapping. You can choose from Source Field, Custom Setting or Literal
Source Field   The source field to use in the mapping.
Source Object   The source object to use in the mapping. Use this field only when using a custom setting mapping type and source field.
In the case of a source field, you can either leave the value blank so that the field comes from the current rule's source object or you can set it to the source object name of the master rule in the ClickLink relationship.
Mapping Literal   A literal value to map to the Target Field.
Source Value is ID

Indicates that the source value regardless of its origin, represents another record ID. The ID must represent a record that is of the same object type as the target field lookup type.

Note: For external lookups, the value must be the external ID of the related record.

Target Record Created From * Indicates whether target records are to be generated from the source record or its parent record.
Target Record Type   Record Type to be assigned to the target record. This allows mappings to be grouped together by name. The name can be anything that describes the purpose of the target record that the mapping relates to. You can use this to create more than one target record per source record.
Target Field * The target field to receive information.
Allow New Record Creation on Lookup   Indicates whether ClickLink creates a new record when one does not exist. For instance, if you enter the value c2g__Dimension1__c, a new Dimension1 record is created with the information from the Description field on the source record.
Source Sync   Indicates whether changes in the source records are to be shown in the target records.
Source Resolution Control Field   Additional field on the source object to determine the source record. For instance, system administrator users have access to multiple company records and therefore may need to determine the source record to use with an additional field. In this case you can specify the API name of the additional field to determine the source record.
Alternate Lookup Resolution Field   The name of the field on the lookup object that is used to identify the lookup record. This field can be used to resolve references if the ID or Name are not sufficient. For example, you may want to use a field that holds a reference to an external system when migrating data from legacy systems.
Source Resolution Control Value is ID   Indicates whether to use the Salesforce ID of the field specified in Source Resolution Control Field. Select this checkbox when there is likely to be more than one record on the target object and you want to use the unique ID of the Source Resolution Control Field instead of its Name.
Note:

To ensure that target records are created, you must also enter the API name of a field that contains an ID in Target Lookup Resolution Field.

Target Lookup Resolution Field   Additional field used to determine the value to use in the target's lookup object. For instance, several company records may exist in different time periods, so in this case you can enter the API name of the Accounting Periods object so that the correct company record is selected.
