Configuring Message Retention
To determine the level of message data you want to retain and the retention time:
- From the Foundations Setup page, click the Message Logs subtab. A list of message types are displayed.
- Use the Logging Level drop-down list to specify the message categoriess you want to retain. Show More
You can set the logging level to one of the following options:
- All - Stores all message data and details of delivery success or failure.
- None - Stores no message data or details of delivery success or failure.
- Errors - Stores details of message data for delivery failures only.
- In the Minimum Retention Time column, select the minimum length of time to retain messages for each message type. Show More
You can set the minimum retention time to one of the following options:
- None - The message is deleted the next time a scheduled deletion job runs or the Run Now option is used to initiate that job.
- Months - The message is retained for the number of months specified. After this period, it is deleted the next time a scheduled deletion job runs or the Run Now option is used to initiate that job.
The minimum retention time in months is one month. - Forever - The message is retained forever and never deleted automatically.
- Inherit - The message is retained for as long as the retention time of its parent message type.
- Click Save.
