Creating a Cost Recognition Page

If you are using Revenue Management to recognize costs, we recommend you create a version of the Revenue Recognition page specifically for cost. You must do this if you are using the integration between Revenue Management and Order and Inventory Management for cost recognition.

You must be signed in as an administrator to perform these steps:

  1. Go to Setup | Lightning App Builder.
  2. In the Lightning Pages list, find the Revenue Recognition page. The details shown for this page are: Name=RevenueRecognition, Namespace Prefix=ffrr, Type=App Page.
  3. Click the Clone action for this page. A clone of the page is loaded into the Lightning App Builder.
  4. [Optional] In the properties pane for the page, change the Label to Cost Recognition or something more appropriate for your org. If you do not change the Label, this page will appear in the list of Lightning Pages as Label=Revenue Recognition, Name=RevenueRecognition1 where 1 might be a higher number if other clones of the Revenue Recognition page already exist.
  5. Click each alert card in turn, and select the Report on Cost checkbox in the properties pane. This switches the alert card to show cost information rather than revenue information.
  6. Click the Recognition Summary grid, and select Cost Only from the Default Layout drop-down list in the properties pane. This switches the grid layout to show columns for cost information only.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Activate.
  9. On the Page Settings tab of the Activation window:
    1. Enter a name for your page. For example, Cost Recognition. This is the page name that users see in the org.
    2. Choose whether to activate the page for all users or for system administrators only. We recommend you activate the page for all users, then restrict some users' access to it if necessary.
    3. Pick an icon for your page.
  10. On the Lightning Experience tab of the Activation window:
    1. Choose the app that you want to add the page to.
    2. Once you have selected your preferred app, click Add page to app. Move the page to your preferred position in the app by dragging the new row up or down the list.
  11. [Optional] Use the Mobile Navigation tab of the Activation window to add the page to the Mobile Only app.
  12. Click Save.

You can now leave the Lightning App Builder, and open your new page from App Launcher.

Controlling Access to the Page

If you want to prevent some users from accessing the new page, edit their profile to hide the tab that has been created for the page.

If you want users to only use the new page and not the original Revenue Recognition page, edit their profile to remove access to the tab for the original Revenue Recognition page.
