Field Sets

Billing Central uses field sets to control the fields that appear on some pages. Field sets are used to control:

  • Whether additional fields appear when editing billing contracts and billing contract line items, which fields are locked on active billing contracts and billing contract line items, and whether fields are excluded on cloned contract line items. For more information, see Billing Contract Field Sets.
  • Whether additional fields appear when editing billing documents and billing document line items, and when printing billing documents. For more information, see Billing Document Field Sets.

You can edit the field sets to suit your requirements. For information about editing field sets, see the Salesforce Help.

Warning:

If your version of Billing Central is an upgrade rather than a new installation, read Protecting Contract Line Fields from Edits When a Contract Is Active. You might need to edit the Active Contract Line Locked Fields field set to include some packaged fields added in recent versions.

Note:

If your Salesforce organization contains custom fields with the same API name as Billing Central fields, you cannot include these fields in a field set because the Billing Central namespace will be added to the field name of the field in the field set and it will therefore return the value of the Billing Central field. We recommend adding a unique prefix to the API names of fields that you create.
