Setting up the Subscription Bookings Dashboard
The Subscription Bookings configuration page can be accessed from any page in the Subscription Bookings dashboard.
Before you perform any dashboard configuration step, ensure that you:
- Have the Einstein Analytics Platform Admin permission set (if not, you can only make local settings changes for your current session).
- Are using the Analytics Studio app (not the Analytics app).
To choose between the Subscription Bookings configuration options, open the Subscription Bookings dashboard:
- Click .
- Click to enter edit mode.
- Click , then select Pick Initial Values.
- Select Annual (ARR) or Monthly (MRR) from the drop-down menu.
- Select Renewal Rate or Churn Rate from the drop-down menu.
- Select the revenue accounts relevant to your subscriptions model (Customer Lifetime Value Chart).
- Select the expense accounts relevant to your customer acquisition costs (Customer Acquisition Costs Chart).
- Click Done to save your dashboard.
- Click .
- Click to enter preview mode and view your changes.
- Click to return to your dashboard.
Selecting the Recurring Revenue Frequency
By default, the Subscription Bookings dashboard is configured to display your recurring revenue on a monthly basis (MRR). You can also choose to display your recurring revenue on an annual basis (ARR).
These are calculated as follows:
- Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR): Monthly recurring revenue (MRR) multiplied by 12. The ARR for contract line items with the billing type One-off is zero. This includes discounts.
- MRR: MRR for the contract line item including discounts. The MRR for contract line items with the billing type One-off is zero.
Selecting the Rate Preference
By default, the Subscription Bookings dashboard is configured to display the renewal rate for your business. You can also choose to display the churn rate.
These are calculated as follows:
- Renewal Rate: 1 - Absolute value of the recurring revenue churn divided by the sum of the Contract Line Item recurring revenue values in a specific time period.
- Churn Rate: Absolute value of the recurring revenue churn divided by the sum of the Contract Line Item recurring revenue values in a specific time period.
Selecting the Subscription Revenue for the Customer Lifetime Value Chart
This setting enables you to select the subscription revenue relevant to your customer lifetime value (CLV) calculation. By default, the CLV calculation uses the following formula:
CLV = Subscription revenue value / (Churn rate * Number of accounts associated with the subscription revenue)
Selecting the Expenses for the Customer Acquisition Costs Chart
This setting enables you to select the expenses that are relevant to your customer acquisition costs (CAC) calculation. By default, the CAC calculation uses the following formula:
