Configuring Options on a Customer Quotation Line

When you add a configurable item to a customer quotation line that contains configurable options, these are shown in the customer quotation line depending on the options your administrator has set and the way in which the options have been configured for that item master:

Note:

To select more than one option per option type for a single customer quotation line, the Allow Multiple Selection of Options checkbox must be selected in the Advanced Quoting Settings custom setting. See Allow Multiple Selection Of Options

You can only create production orders from a sales order for items that are configurable manufactured kits. For non configurable manufactured kits, use the standard production order process.

You can configure the options on a customer quotation line using the Options tab in the Edit Line popup or Add the New Customer Quotation Line popup that appears when you create a customer quotation line from the Enter New Line field.

To configure the options on a customer quotation line:

  1. Click the name of the Item to Quote.
  2. Click the Options tab.
  3. Click to expand the option that you want to configure.
  4. Select the checkboxes of the options you want to include in the quotation line.
  5. [Optional Edit the quantity of the items you want.
  6. [Optional] Edit the price.
  7. Click Save.
Note:

If the option is not associated with an item master and an item master exists with the same name as the option, that option IS NOT associated with that item master when you apply it to the quote. For information about associating options with an item master, see Creating Configurable Options in an Item Master.

If you change the quantity of the main item on a customer quotation line, any quantities that you have set for options are reset to the default that was applied to the options when you added the item to the customer quotation. This is done to maintain an accurate price for the item with options.

Your administrator may have configured Advanced Quoting to display option fields that show the effects of the options on the price of the quote. The fields that appear depend on the fields that your system administrator has chosen in the Customer Quotation Line Field Sets.

Fields that are prefixed with Ext represent an amount based on the quantity of the item. For instance, in this example, the main Item Cost is 199 and the line specifies a quantity of 65, therefore to get the Ext. Item Cost, the Item Cost is multiplied by 65 to get 12,935.
