Expressing Interest in Upcoming Work Opportunities
A resource manager can mark selected resource requests as being suitable for self-nomination by prospective candidates. This means that when you check the Work Opportunities Coming Soon list, you might see that there is an upcoming work opportunity that you would like to be assigned to. You can then click a button to let the resource manager know that you are interested.
To express interest in upcoming work opportunities:
- Navigate to the page that displays the Resource Self-Nomination Lightning component, which has the heading Work Opportunities Coming Soon. Your administrator can add the component to a Lightning app page, home page, workspace, or to your Salesforce My Profile page, which is displayed when you click your photo.
- From the Available tab, view the list of upcoming resource requests you can choose from. A maximum of 10 resource requests are displayed. Each resource opportunity contains the following sections:
- Work Opportunities Details: displays the details of the work opportunity using the Resource Request, Project, Account, Start Date, End Date, Self-Nomination Deadline, and Information for Prospective Candidates fields.
- Skills and Certifications: displays the skills and certifications associated with the resource opportunity. The skills and certifications are displayed with the Skill Importance and Minimum Rating fields. If you would like to see the skills grouped into Essential and Desirable categories, contact your administrator. For more information, see Enable Desirable Skills.
- [Optional] Filter the list of resource requests using the options available from Filter By. The options that are visible depend on the filter configuration set up by your administrator. For more information, see Configuring Resource Request Filters. The full list of options is:
- None: all available resource requests are displayed, subject to the filter configuration set up by your administrator.
- My Skill Aspirations: restrict the list to those resource records where the skills from the Resource Skill Requests match the skills marked with the Aspiration flag on one of your skill or certification rating records. For more information, see Resource Request Fields and Skill or Certification Rating Fields.
- My Role: restrict the list to resource requests matching the role set on your contact record.
- My Region: restrict the list to resource requests matching the region set on your contact record.
- My Practice: restrict the list to resource requests matching the practice set on your contact record.
- My Group: restrict the list to resource requests matching the group set on your contact record.
- My Skills: restrict the list to resource requests with a primary skill that matches your skills. Resource requests without a primary skill specified are also displayed.
- [Optional] Sort the resource requests by the following:
- Last Modified Date (default)
- Self-Nomination Deadline
- Start Date
- Take note of the date in the Self-Nomination Deadline field on each resource request, as you must express interest before that date.
- View the details in the Information for Prospective Candidates field to help you decide whether the work is of interest to you.
- Click one of the following:
- Interested: the resource request moves to the Interested tab. PSA allows a maximum of five candidates to express interest in the same resource request. A candidate record is created and your resource manager can see that you have expressed interest in the work.
- Not Interested: the resource request is dismissed from the list on the Available tab. This is stored locally so is retained whenever you use the same browser on the same computer. If you use a different device or clear the cookies in your browser, dismissed resource requests will reappear.
- [Optional] From the Interested tab, view the list of resource requests you have expressed interest in.
- [Optional] Click Not Interested if you are no longer interested in a resource request. The resource request moves back to the Available tab. If one of the following applies, the resource request is no longer displayed so you can't withdraw interest:
- You are a held resource on the resource request.
- An assignment has already been created for you.
- The resource request is canceled.
The resource request that was modified most recently is displayed at the top of the list by default. Provided you have the required permissions, you can click the links to view the relevant records, for example, the related resource request, account, or project.
In each case, the most recently updated entry is displayed at the top of the list.
