Filtering the List of Resources or Projects

Use the filters panel to condense the number of resources or projects that display in Planners. Easily define complex filter criteria that span different RPGAbbreviation of region, practice, group.s using the drag-and-drop interface. For a full list of filter criteria, based on fields on the resource or project, see Filters Panel.

When you're done, you can use the Remember Filters functionality the Planner to retain your filters and their filter criteria so they are applied automatically the next time you manage your resources or projects. PSA can remember filters for each user.

You can create custom field sets as filter criteria with the Project Planner Filter Field Set and Resource Planner Filter Field Set settings. For more information, see Resource and Project Planners Settings and Preferences.

Combining Filters

AND Relationships

If more than one filter instance is enabled on the filters panel, they are linked using an AND relationship with one another. For example: Region equals United States AND Role equals Implementation Consultant

OR Relationships

You can define OR relationships between attributes available within individual filters. For example:
(Region equals United States OR Europe) AND Role equals Implementation Consultant

Filter the List of Resources or Projects

  1. In Resource and Project Planners, click to show the filters panel.
  2. Locate the filter that you want to use in the Available Filters column.
  3. Drag the filter onto the filter canvas in any of the three columns.
  4. To add more filters, repeat the previous step.
  5. Select or enter the filter criteria you want to apply on each filter. For example, if you are filtering on Practice, drag Practice A and Practice B from All Practices to Selected Practices.
  6. Click Apply Filters and Reload to update the list of resources or projects to match the criteria defined on the enabled filters.

To remember your favorite filters

  1. Follow the previous steps to filter the list of resources or projects.
  2. To disable, but not remove, individual filters click Image: Enable Filters Icon (Tick).
  3. Click Remember Filters.

To restore your favorite filters

  1. Follow the previous steps to remember filters.
  2. Click Restore Filters.
  3. Optionally, click Apply Filters and Reload to filter the list of resources or projects.
