Resource Planner and Project Planner Overview

Find, view, and manage your resources and active projects with the Resource Planner and Project Planner. You can view assignments and held resource requestsClosed together with schedules, organized by resourceClosed or projectClosed. Resource Planner uses color coding to indicate the allocation status of resources. Statuses are over, under or correctly allocated.

Note:

When Shield Platform Encryption is enabled in your org, you cannot filter on an encrypted field because it does not display in the Filters panel.

You can modify schedules, including duration, schedule patternClosed and daily notes, on the timeline or the edit assignments panelClosed. You can choose whether or not to save changes to your Salesforce organizationClosed, allowing you to work through "what if" scenarios. Filters enable you to find the resources or projects that you work with every day.

When you make changes in Project Task Gantt and Resource and Project Planners, temporary status messages display on the screen. The messages fade after a few seconds. To have your messages persist, move your mouse pointer into the message box.

Inline Frames

The Resource and Project Planners do not support inline frames (iframes). Therefore you can't use planners with the Console tab or Service Cloud Console, or any custom integrations that use iframes.
