Creating Resource Skill Requests on Resource Requests

Resource skill requests enable you to list and request the skills and minimum ratings you need a particular resource to have to staff a resource request. You can view, modify, and create skill resource requests on resource requests.

If you use skills and ratings to staff resource requests, you might want to continue using the Visualforce Resource Request page.

The Match All value in the Resource filter typically defaults to reflect the value of Match All value of skills resource requests on the resource request. For example, if all skill resource requests are set to Match All, the default is set to Match All in the Resource filter component. If the first resource request skill listed in the Resourcing component is set to Match Any, Match All defaults to match any in the Resource filter.

If you want a resource who matches all their skills against all of the resource skill requests on the resource request, set the first skill request in the list in the component to Match All.

You might need to add the Match All field to your Resource Skill Request page layout.

To view, modify, and create skill resource requests:

  1. Click Skills And Certifications on the Resource Request page to display a list of resource skill requests for the resource request.
  2. [Optional] Click View All to expand the list of resource skill requests.
  3. [Optional] Click Edit or Delete on an individual resource skill request to modify it or remove it as needed.
  4. Click New to create a new resource skill request record for the resource request. The Resource Request field defaults to the resource request record in the Resourcing component in the New Resource Skill Request dialog.
  5. Select a skill or certification in the Skill/Certification field. Enter a minimum of one character to start the search.
  6. Select a minimum rating for the selected skill or certification.
  7. [Optional] Do one of the following:
    1. Select Match All to return resources who match all resource skill requests for the resource request at your specified ratings.
    2. Deselect Match All to return resources who match at least one or more resource skill requests for the resource request.
  8. [Optional] Select Primary to make this particular record the most important skill or certification required for the skill request.
  9. Click Save.
