New Features and Enhancements in PSA Analytics
Summer 2022
The following new features have been introduced in the Summer 2022 release of PSA Analytics
Changes to PSA Analytics Apps, Dashboards, and Datasets
From Summer 2022, two PSA Analytics apps are available for use:
- PSA Core Analytics
- PSA Advanced Analytics
These new apps replace the single PSA Analytics app used to create dashboards and datasets in previous releases.
You must be assigned administrator permissions, or equivalent to create a new PSA Core Analytics app.
The schematic below gives a high-level overview of this change.
The following conditions apply when using PSA Core Analytics apps:
We recommend upgrading to this release if you have a large number of users in your org who require view access to dashboards but do not need to view or edit their underlying datasets in Analytics Studio.
For more information about the dashboards and datasets contained in each PSA Analytics app, see Upgrading PSA Analytics to Summer 2022.
If you want to create all the dashboards and datasets held in the Spring 2022 release of PSA Analytics, using the new PSA Analytics functionality available in Summer 2022, you must perform the following steps:
- Create a PSA Analytics Setup record, and then create the PSA Core Analytics app to generate your required datasets and dashboards.
- Run the PSA Advanced Analytics configuration wizard to create your required dashboards.
The functionality to create the new PSA Core Analytics app is contained in the Summer 2022 release of Foundations. You must install Foundations Summer 2022 before creating your core app.
For more information on creating your PSA Core Analytics app, see Creating an App from the PSA Core Analytics Template.
For more information on creating your PSA Advanced Analytics app, see Creating an App from the PSA Advanced Analytics Template.
Dashboard Renaming
The Project Burnup and Project Burnup (Embedded) dashboards have been renamed Project Burnup Plus, and Project Burnup Plus (Embedded).
RPG Dataset
We have added the RPG dataset. This new dataset contains data derived from the Region, Practice, and Group objects in your PSA data environment. For more information about this dataset, see RPG.
Dataset Enhancements
The following fields have been added to the Project Reporting dataset:
- Project Task Summary
- Project Task Parent Name
From this release, Resource Request Skills records in the Project Reporting dataset that have a value of "Desirable" are now filtered out.
Deprecated and Deleted Features
Deleted Dashboards and Datasets
From Summer 2022, the Billing Forecast dashboard and the Billing Forecast Summaries, and Billing Forecast Details datasets are no longer available in PSA Analytics.
Deprecated App Template
From this release, you can only reconfigure existing PSA Analytics apps created with versions of Business Analytics up to and including Spring 2022. From Summer 2022, you cannot use this app template to create new apps.
