Creating a Bank Format Definition Field

We recommend that you read and understand What is a Bank Format Definition? before creating any definition records.

To create a bank format definition field record:

  1. Click the Bank Format Definitions tab.
  2. Navigate to the detail page for the top-level bank format definition record.
  3. In the Bank Format Definition Record Types section, click the name of the first record type. This will probably be a Header record type.
  4. In the Bank Format Definition Fields section, click New Bank Format Definition Field.
  5. Enter a short, descriptive, meaningful and unique name for this record.
  6. Enter this record's global output sequence.
  7. Enter a unique external ID. For more information, see Choosing an External ID
  8. Complete the remaining fields as described in the related topics.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Repeat from step 4 for other definition fields that you need to create. You can clone one record and use it as the basis for the next.
