Using the Payment Selection Tab

The Payment Selection tab offers an alternative way to retrieve and pay transactions.

To perform additional processing, such as make part payments or apply analysis dimensionsClosed Custom objects that allow you to analyze the activity in your business in additional ways, such as by cost center, project, employee, or any other business entity important to you., you must work with the proposal from the Payments tab.

To retrieve transactions for payment using the Payment Selection tab:

  1. Click the Payment Selection tab. See Payment Selection Fields for more details.
  2. Click Filters to show or hide the filter panel.
  3. With the filter panel displayed, enable the checkboxes of the filter criteria you want to use. Document Currency is mandatory.
  4. Supply values for your chosen filter criteria.
  5. Click Retrieve Documents. All transactions that meet your filter criteria and are available for payment are listed. The maximum number of transactions that can be retrieved is controlled by the protected custom setting Payment Selection Retrieved Limit; you will need to refine your filter criteria if you reach this limit. If you change your filter criteria, click Retrieve Documents again to refresh the results.
  6. Select the checkboxes for the transactions you want to pay. You can select up to 3000.
  7. Click Create Payment.
  8. Review, and complete, the details on the Create Payment dialog. See Payment Selection Fields for more details.
  9. Click Create to create a payment proposal. A dialog is displayed that gives you the opportunity to choose where to go next.
  10. [Optional} Click Continue to Payment if you want to make the payment now. You will be taken to the Payment Criteria page where you can continue the process.
  11. [Optional} Click Create More Payments to create another payment proposal now.
  12. [Optional} Click Go to Payments Home to go to the Payment Home page.

Tip: If you find retrieval by using a particular filter field is slow, your administrator can ask Salesforce to add a custom index to that field. This could improve performance.
