Scrapping an Item

If inventory needs to be scrapped, you can do so on the Inventory tab:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click Available Inventory on the item master of the item to be scrapped.
    • Search for the item on the Inventory tab.
  2. Select the checkbox of the inventory to be scrapped.
  3. Click Scrap.
  4. Select a reason for scrapping the items.
  5. Enter more information about the reasons for scrapping the item in the Comments field.
  6. Enter the number of items to be scrapped in the quantity field.
  7. Click OK.

Scrapping Items with Inbound/Outbound Serial Number Control

To scrap items with inbound/outbound serial number control:

  1. Follow steps 1 to 7 in the preceding section.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • In the Enter Serial Number field, enter the serial numbers that you want to assign to the scrapped units. To do this:
      1. Enter only one of the serial numbers that you want to assign.
      2. Click Add.
      3. Repeat steps 1 to 2 until you enter a quantity of serial numbers that matches the item quantity that you want to scrap.
    • Use the Serial Numbers List link to select the serial numbers that you want to assign to the scrapped units. To do this:
      1. Click Serial Numbers List.
      2. Select the serial numbers that you want to assign. You must select a quantity of serial numbers that matches the item quantity that you want to scrap.
      3. Click Add Serial Numbers.
  3. Click Save.
Warning: Ensure that the serial numbers that you assign to the scrapped units are related to units within the inventory location that you are scrapping a quantity for. Not doing so can result in data inconsistencies in the inventory transaction perpetual records that are created from the scrapping.
