What is an Action View Template?
An action view template allows you to set up action views so that you can view any details in the format that you want. Each template specifies the dataview you are inquiring on. As you configure the action view template, the preview area refreshes to reflect your latest changes. When your results are presented, you can select the data to perform actions on, or view related information.
When you run an action view, data is retrieved and displayed, either in a grid or as a chart. The action view template lets you control how the results are displayed, including what information is shown. For example, when inquiring on opportunity details you might want to display Type, Account, Contract, Owner Name, and Owner Email. You can only use fields that have the Presentable checkbox enabled on the dataview to present action view results.
