Service Contract Settings

Use these fields in the Service Contract Settings custom setting to change the behavior of some of the features in the Service Contracts package.

Custom Field Description
Calculate RC Fees from Line Start Date Indicates whether the start date on a flex term customer quotation line or flex term service contract line is used to calculate recurring term fees.
Add Change Request to Next Invoice Indicates whether additional amounts that a customer has to pay from a change request are added to the contract and billed on the next invoice instead of at the time the change request is incorporated into the contract. When selected and Auto Create Invoice From Change Request is selected, this setting is overridden and a prorated invoice is automatically created from a change request once it has been incorporated in the service contract.
Add Waived Terms to Service Terms Standard service contracts only. When selected and the Service Contract First Bill Date is later than the Service Contract Start Date, waived terms are added to the Service Term Number. When cleared, the waived terms are not added to the Service Term Number.
Allow Multiple Change Requests Indicates whether you can open more than one change request on a service contract at the same time.
Auto Create Invoice From Change Request Indicates whether a prorated invoice is automatically created from a change request once it has been incorporated in the service contract. When selected, this happens regardless of whether Add Change Request to Next Invoice is selected.
Auto Incorporate Approved Cancellation Indicates whether an approved cancellation change request is automatically applied to a service contract.
Auto Set Number Of Terms On Line Level

Deprecated: Automatically sets the new number of terms on service contract line when the service contract line date is changed. Also calculates the new service contract line end date when the number of terms is changed. The service contract line start date remains unchanged.

This custom setting is always on and only works for the flex service contract.

Default The Pepetual Contract Indicates whether the Perpetual Contract checkbox is selected by default when you create a new service contract.
Created Cancel Service Contract Lines Indicates whether you can create an invoice from cancelled service contract lines on a change request.
Hide Zero Billing Term Contract Lines Indicates whether contract lines that have zero remaining terms to be billed can be added to a change request.
Lines Per Page Maximum number of lines to be displayed per page on a change request, the Create PO for Service Contract page and the Select Service Contract Lines section of the Add Service Contract Lines popup. Recommended value: 200. Maximum value: 500.
Location Indicates the user, profile or organization to which these custom fields apply. You can configure this custom setting for your entire organization, a profile or for a particular user.
Number of Days in Year to Prorate Terms Number of days in a year to base the calculation on when prorating an amount for a contract term. You can enter 360 or 365. When set to 360, prorated amounts are based on 30 days. When set to 365, prorated amounts are based on the number of days in the month excluding leap years.
Remove NRC On Change Request Dialog Box Indicates whether the non recurring section is removed from the Change Request popup.
Turn Off Add Function On Change Request Indicates whether the Add section of the Change Request page is removed. When selected, this prevents you from adding service contract lines on a change request, without creating a customer quotation change request.
Turn off auto update prices on CR Gives the user the option to turn off the auto update prices function on a change request that is based on a price type change. This function is for users who don't want all the prices across all the lines to change when a price type change is made.
Turn Off Mini Page On Lines Indicates whether the popup that appears when you hover over change request lines is suppressed.
Turn On Ability To Add To Existing PO Indicates whether you can add service contract lines to an existing purchase order even if the purchase order is closed.
Turn On Service Contract This setting is used in conjunction with the Organization setting Auto Create Service Contract to enable service contracts to be created automatically when a sales order is created from a customer quotation.
