Resource Planner and Project Planner Overview
Find, view, and manage your resources and active projects with the Resource Planner and Project Planner. You can view assignments and held resource requests A resource request with a status of “held” and a schedule. The Resource field is populated. together with schedules, organized by resource A contact that works on a project. or project A collection of activities and related items to be managed over a defined time range, such as timecards, expenses, milestones and budgets.. Resource Planner uses color coding to indicate the allocation status of resources. Statuses are over, under or correctly allocated. You can modify schedules, including duration, schedule pattern The number of hours usually worked per day on an assignment. and daily notes, on the timeline or the edit assignments panel A contextual panel used to manage schedules for resources and projects on the Resource and Project Planners.. You can choose whether or not to save changes to your Salesforce organization A deployment of the Salesforce/Certinia applications with a defined set of licensed users. Your organization (org) includes all of your data and applications, and is separate from all other orgs., allowing you to work through "what if" scenarios. Filters enable you to find the resources or projects that you work with every day.

When you make changes in Project Task Gantt and Resource and Project Planners, temporary status messages display on the screen. The messages fade after a few seconds. To have your messages persist, move your mouse pointer into the message box.
Minimum Requirements
You can use the Resource Planner and Project Planner if you have at least the following:
- One of our Supported Browsers.
- A display resolution of at least 1280 x 1024 pixels.
Inline Frames
The Resource and Project Planners do not support inline frames (iframes). Therefore you can't use planners with the Console tab or Service Cloud Console, or any custom integrations that use iframes.
