Saving Merged Permissions

After you have merged the permission type's permissions that have been added to either or both selection 1 and selection 2, you can choose to save the results to either a new permission set or muting permission set.

Saving Merged Permissions to a New Permission Set

To merge the permissions assigned to one or more fields and objects to a new permission set, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Save As drop-down menu, select Save to New Permission Set.
  2. Enter a label for the permission set. The API name is populated automatically based on the label name. You can modify the API name, if required.
Note: Ensure that the label and API name is not already in use elsewhere on your org.
  3. Click Save.
Note: To view the permission set you have created, navigate to Setup | Permission Sets.

Saving Merged Permissions to Muting Permission Set

To merge the permissions assigned to one or more fields and objects to a muting permission set, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Save As drop-down menu, select Save to Muting Permission Set.
  2. From the Permission Set Group field, search for an existing permission set group.
Note: Ensure that you have a permission set group available in your org against which you create a muting permission set. Multiple permission sets can be grouped into a single permission set group.

For more information on creating a permission set group, see the Salesforce Help.

  3. Enter a label for the permission set. The API name is populated automatically based on the label name. You can modify the API name, if required.
Note: Ensure that the label and API name is not already in use elsewhere on your org.
  4. Click Save.
