Allocation Rule Fields
Here is a description of the elements on the Allocation Rule page.
Buttons
Key: S - Statistical allocation rule only

Allocation Rules List | Returns you to the list of allocation rules. | |
Cancel | Cancels without saving. | |
Delete | Deletes the currently displayed allocation rule. | |
Edit | Enables you to edit the currently displayed allocation rule. | |
Save | Saves the current allocation rule. If this button is not displayed, click Edit. | |
S | Creates a custom statistical basis for use with this allocation rule, instead of using an existing statistical basis. | |
S | Enables you to edit the selected statistical basis. | |
Opens the related Accounting Help topic. | ||
Maximizes or restores the page in your browser window. |
Header Details
Key: * – Mandatory field; F – Fixed allocation only; S – Statistical allocation only; The number indicates the number of characters that are allowed in this text field, where appropriate.

Active | Enable this checkbox if you want to use this rule for allocations. You can only make a rule active when you have allocated 100% of the source data. | ||
Allocation Type | * | The type of allocation you want to use this rule for. | |
Company | * F | The company this allocation rule is for. This field is only available if local GLAs A general ledger account that is used in local statutory reporting. You can only use local GLAs in allocations if you are in single-company mode. are enabled in your org and is only mandatory if you are selecting local GLAs from the distribution grid. See What is a Chart of Accounts Structure? for more information on local GLAs. When you select a company, only those local GLAs that belong to the local chart of accounts structure set on that company are available from the distribution grid. If you do not select a company, only corporate GLAs are available. You cannot change the company if you have already created lines in the distribution grid for that company. You must delete the lines before you can change the company. |

Distribution Fields | * S | The fields you want to calculate your allocation percentage or value on. You can select GLAs, dimensions, companies or a combination of all three. The contents of this field are derived from the selected statistical basis. | |

Distribution Grid
For fixed allocation rules, to remove a row, click .
For statistical allocation rules, you must change the filters to change the contents of the distribution grid.
To find specific entries in the grid, type in the Search field.
To control which columns are visible in the grid, click the down arrow in a dimension column heading and select Columns. You can then add or remove the tick next to a column name.
To sort the contents of a column in the grid, click the column heading to switch between an ascending and a descending sort order on that column.

Company | The companies to which the allocation is distributed. | |
Dimension 1-4 | * | The dimensions you want to allocate to. Some of these may have been hidden by your administrator. You must enter a value in at least one of the Dimension columns. To auto populate the grid with all available dimension values, click the down arrow in each Dimension column heading and select Populate All. The dimensions are listed on separate rows in the grid. |
General Ledger Account | The corporate GLAs you want to allocate to. | |
Local GLA | F | The local GLAs A general ledger account that is used in local statutory reporting. You can only use local GLAs in allocations if you are in single-company mode. you want to allocate to. Percentage (%) | * | The percentage you want to allocate to each GLA and dimension, up to four decimal places. To split the allocation equally between the GLAs and dimensions listed in the grid, click the down arrow in the Percentage (%) column heading and select Spread Evenly. |
Value | S | The amount you want to allocate to each GLA and dimension. |
Statistical Allocation Rule Filters
To remove a row, click .
For each field, the operator and value are mandatory.
Field | Description |

Field | Field you want to use to set filter criteria. The fields available are derived from Distribution Fields. |
Operator | Mathematical or logical operation used on the filter. |
Value | Value for the filter. |
Proportional and Statistical Allocation Rule Filter Buttons
Button | Description |
---|---|
Clear All | Clears the filter criteria currently set on this allocation rule. |
Hide Filter/Show Filter | Displays or hides your filter criteria. |
Preview | Retrieves your data based on the selected set of proportional or statistical values, distribution fields and filters and displays it in the Distribution grid. |
