Setting Up Extended Planning and Analysis

Prerequisites

If you are already using Analytics, you must:

Create and Configure Analytics Datasets. For more information the Salesforce Help.

Before you can use Extended Planning and Analysis, you must:

[Optional] Install the Salesforce Analytics package. For more information, see the Salesforce Help. This is highly recommended.
Assign the relevant permissions to your users. For more information, see Permissions.
[Optional] Configure custom fields for all plans.
[Optional] Customize Planning Lightning components. For more information, see Extended Planning and Analysis Lightning Components.
Create a data source. For more information, see Creating a Data Source.
Create a dimension. For more information, see Creating a Dimension.
Create a measure. For more information, see Creating a Measure .
Map a dimension with a data source. For more information, see Mapping Dimensions to Data Source.
Map a measure with a data source. For more information, see Mapping Measures to Data Source.

You can assign the following permission sets to users for access to Planning:

Permission Set Name	Description
xP&A - Manage Data Sources and Plans	Provides access to configure data sources and create and manage new plans.
xP&A - Manage Plans	Provides access to create new plans and edit and view assigned plans.
