Mapping Measures to Data Source
The data source must be mapped with an Extended Planning and Analysis measure to create a plan using Analytics data.
To map a measure:
- On the Measure Mappings tab, click New. The New Measure Mapping window opens.
- In the Data Source lookup field, search for the data source that you want to map. If no data source exists, create a new data source. For more information, see Creating a Data Source. For example, Testing.
- In the Measure lookup field, search for the measure that you want to map to the plan. If no measure exists, create a new measure. For more information, Creating a Measure . For example, Measure 6.
- In the Analytics Measure Name, specify the Analytics measure API name for the measure that you want to map to a plan. For example, Test. To avoid issues, you must ensure that the name contains no blank spaces and typos.
When creating a plan from Analytics, you need to link it to the Analytics API name, the Analytics Measure Name. However, if you're creating a blank plan, you do not need to map to a data source and therefore do not need an API name.
- In the Measure Type field, select the measure type to perform the calculation on the measure. The supported measure types are:
- Count
- Sum
- Average
- Maximum
- Minimum
- Unique
- Click Save or, if you want to save the current record and immediately create another, click Save & New.
