Mapping Dimensions to Data Source

The data source must be mapped with an Extended Planning and Analysis dimension to create a plan using Analytics data.

To map a dimension:

1. On the Dimension Mappings tab, click New. The New Dimension Mapping window opens.
2. In the Data Source lookup field, search for the data source that you want to map. If no data source exists, create a new data source. For more information, see Creating a Data Source. For example, Testing.
3. In the Dimension lookup field, search for the dimension that you want to map to the plan. If no dimension exists, create a new dimension. For more information, Creating a Dimension. For example, Dimension 19.
4. In the Analytics Dimension Name, specify the Analytics dimension API name for the dimension that requires to be mapped to a plan. For example, Test. To avoid issues, you must ensure that the name contains no blank spaces and typos.

   When creating a plan from Analytics, link it to the Analytics API name, and the Analytics Dimension Name. However, if you're creating a blank plan, you do not need to map to a data source and therefore do not need an API name.

5. Click Save. The dimension is mapped to a data source.
