Configuring Shift Management
-
Set permissions and access
To create teams, you must have the Team Create permission. For more information, see About Team Permission Controls.
You can control edit and view access to teams using:
- Default access levels for the team member A resource assigned to a team. role. For more information, see Team Settings.
- Access levels for individual team members. For more information, see Managing Teams.
- You can use Team permission controls as an alternate method for expanding team member access.
In general, the best practice is to adjust team member access using the Manage Teams page rather than using permission controls.
- Default access levels for the team member A resource assigned to a team. role. For more information, see Team Settings.

Creating Shift Management Assignments Outside of Team Schedule Planner
If your organization has an application or process other than Team Schedule Planner to create assignments for Shift Management, note:
- Shift Management calculates weekly assignment start and end dates using the Start Date and End Date fields from the Schedule object.
- The daily hours of individual shift assignments use the hour and minute values from the Start Time and End Time fields on the Schedule object.
For more information about the fields in the Schedule object, see Schedule Fields.
