Using Journal Loader
Before starting the process, ensure you are in single-company mode and the current company is the company for which you want to run Journal Loader. You must also be assigned to the Accounting and Billing Journal - Save permission set.
Loading journal data from a spreadsheet into Journal Loader
To load up to 50,000 journal lines using Journal Loader:
- Click the Journal Loader tab.
- Specify the Suspense GLA if one is not displayed, or amend the default if required.
- Select and copy your journal data from the relevant spreadsheet.
- In Journal Loader, click anywhere within the area bordered by the dotted line.
- Paste your journal data. If any errors occur, clear the data in Journal Loader, correct the errors in the source spreadsheet, and try pasting the data again.
When the journal data is uploaded successfully, a table is displayed. This shows the number of journals that will be created by the upload process.
You can click any journal row to display the Journal Details dialogue, where you can view a detailed list of the journal lines within that journal.
Saving the imported journal data to the FinancialForce database
To save the imported journal data to FinancialForce Accounting:
- Click Save. The Journal Loader is locked until the save process completes.
After the save process, a message is displayed telling you how many journals and journal lines have been saved. To load journal data from another spreadsheet, clear the current data and start the process again.
