Cloning Multiple Journals
This feature is not part of the base Accounting package, your administrator One or more individuals in your organization who can configure and customize the application. Users assigned the System Administrator profile have administrator privileges. must install and configure an extension package to enable it. |
If you have a series of journals that you post every month you can use this feature to create them quickly from existing journals.

To clone up to 200 journals:
- Click the Journals tab.
- Choose a predefined view from the drop-down list to select the records to display. Alternatively, you can select Create New View to define your own list view.
- Use the checkboxes on the left to select the journals that you want to clone.
- Click Clone Many. You are notified of the success or failure of this operation. All new journals have a status of "In Progress" and a description that records the source journal number.
- [Optional] Check the information on the cloned journals and edit if necessary.
- Post the journals.
- [Optional] Repeat the process as many times as required.
To monitor the progress of an asynchronous batch job, navigate to Setup, then click Monitoring | Apex Jobs. The queue lists any batch jobs that have not finished execution. The Total Batches column lists the total number of batches for the job. The Batches Processed column lists the number of batches that have been processed. See the Salesforce Help for more information.
