Deleting a Task Dependency Relationship

There are several ways that you can delete a task dependency relationship.

Context Menu

To delete a task dependency relationship using the context menu:

  1. Right-click the task that you want to delete the relationship for.
  2. Hover over Delete dependency.
  3. Select the name of the related task that you want to delete the relationship for.
  4. Click Save.

Schedule Pane

To delete a task dependency relationshipClosed A relationship between two tasks. If a task is completed early or late, this has an effect on the start and end date of the task that succeeds it. in the Schedule pane:

  1. Double-click the dependency relationship that you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete.

Tasks Pane

To delete a dependency relationship in the Task pane, the related task must be a predecessor. If the related task is a successor, you must select the Predecessors cell in that task.

To delete a task dependency relationship using the Tasks pane:

  1. Select the Predecessors cell of the task that you want to delete the relationship for.
  2. Clear the name of the task in the Predecessors field that you want to delete the relationship for.
    Note:

    The task might have more than one Predecessor. If you clear this field, the relationship with all predecessor tasks will be removed.

  3. Click Save.
