Managing Projects

To open Project Task Gantt to manage a project taskClosed A unit of work or collection of work associated with a project. or checkpointClosed A zero duration task record, which is used to represent an event in the project such as a key decision, completion of a work package, completion of a deliverable or end of a phase. Checkpoint tasks have no relationship with PSA milestones., click Project Task Gantt on the Project Detail page of the project that you want to manage.

Note:

If you are the project manager and/or have been granted a valid Project Task Gantt Edit permission control, the project is opened in edit mode and you can make changes. If you are not the project manager, but have been granted the Project Task Gantt View permission control, the project is opened in read-only mode and you cannot make changes to project tasks. If you are not the project manager of the project and have not been granted the Project Task Gantt View permission control for that project, the project is not listed.

If a project is open in read-only mode, the Save button is not displayed. Instead, a message appears in its place stating that only the project manager is allowed to edit the project.

To quit Project Task Gantt and return to the Project Detail page:

  1. Click Return.
  2. When there are unsaved changes, a confirmation popup appears. To save your changes, click Stay on Page, click Save, and then repeat the previous step. If you want to discard unsaved changes, click Leave Page.

To choose a different project:

  1. Select the project that you want to manage from the Select Project drop-down list.
  2. When there are unsaved changes, a confirmation popup appears. To save your changes, click Stay on Page, click Save, and then repeat the previous step. If you want to discard unsaved changes, click Leave Page.

Toggle full screen mode.

Note: This functionality is not available if you are using Lightning.
Expand or collapse the Task and Schedule panes so that one of them fills the page. Click the arrow button in the task or schedule page depending on which pane you want to expand or collapse.
Change the portion of the page that a pane occupies. Drag the dividing line between the Task pane and the Schedule pane left or right.
Access information or fields that are out of view.
