Calculating Backlog

To calculate backlogRevenue that is expected from projects over a period of time for a region, practice or group. on a regionA level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects., practiceA level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects. or groupA level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects.:

  1. On the Region, Practice or Group tab, open the record on which you want to calculate backlog.
  2. Click Calculate Backlog
  3. Complete the fields described in Backlog Calculation Fields.
  4. Click Calculate.

The Backlog Calculation Detail page appears with a related list containing each backlog detail record. If you have configured your organization to display any alternate currencies, converted backlog details display. For more information, see Setting Alternate Backlog Currencies.

Tip: Tip Blue Lightbulb
We recommend running backlog calculation using the method specified above. If you calculate backlog using the Backlog Calculations tab, running backlog calculations with a project lookup is not supported.

To view other backlog calculations, display the region, practice or group that you carried out the calculation on and scroll to the Backlog related list. See Region, Practice and Group Fields. You can also access backlog calculation detail records from the region, practice, group or project related lists.

To schedule a backlog calculation:

  1. Repeat steps 1 to 3 mentioned earlier.
  2. Complete the fields in the Schedule section of the Calculate Backlog page. See Backlog Calculation Fields.
  3. Click Schedule.
