Setting up Work Calendars
Create a for each entity in your organization that has different work weekdays, weekends, hours and/or holidays. For example, if your organization has resources in different geographical locations who work different days of the week, and have different days off, create a separate work calendar for each location:
- Click the Work Calendar tab.
- Click New Work Calendar.
- Complete the fields described in Work Calendar Fields.
- Click Save.
When creating regions, practices, groups, resources and assignments, enter the work calendar that you want to apply.
Setting up a Work Calendar for Project Task Gantt
You can configure Project Task Gantt to display the start and end time of each working day based on the work calendar associated with the project.
- Edit the Work Calendar page layout to include the following fields:
- Sunday Start Hour
- Monday Start Hour
- Tuesday Start Hour
- Wednesday Start hour
- Thursday Start Hour
- Friday Start Hour
- Saturday Start Hour
- Sunday End Hour
- Monday End Hour
- Tuesday End Hour
- Wednesday End Hour
- Thursday End Hour
- Friday End Hour
- Saturday End Hour
- Edit the Start and End Hour fields on the Work Calendar page layout to define the start and end times for each day.
- [Optional] Edit the Work Calendar field on the Project object to associate the work calendar with the project.
- [Optional] To see scheduled project task hours in an expanded detailed day view, check the Enable Day Detail setting in Project Task Gantt Settings and Preferences.
