Gantt Preferences

Gantt preferences enable you to control the related behavior of the project tasks and the project. The preferences apply only to you, but:

• Project preferences are applied only to the project that you set them on.
• User preferences are applied to all projects that you work on.

Changes that you make to either type of preferences are restored each time you open Gantt on the same computer, using the same browser.

To open the Preferences dialog, click . The following preferences are available.

Project Preferences

• Adjust this project's end date automatically

  This is deselected by default. If selected and applied, the project's end date is changed to the end date of the last task. You cannot edit the project end date from the task grid or Gantt chart.

  Tip: We recommend that you select this option if you are using the Critical Path function. For more information about the critical path, see Using Critical Path in Gantt.
• Adjust tasks based on this project's start date automatically

  This is selected by default. When applied, all task dates are moved with respect to any changes that you make to the project's start date.

User Preferences

• Enable keyboard shortcuts

  This is selected by default. When applied, you can use keyboard shortcuts for some actions in Gantt.

• Reload on save

  This is selected by default. When applied, Gantt reloads data automatically every time that you click Save.
