Generate Resource Requests from Project Tasks Fields

Here is a description of the fields and buttons on the Generate Resource Requests from Project Task Assignments and Generate page.

Project Information Section

This section displays information on the project for which PSA will generate task-driven resource requests.

Key: * – Mandatory field; R – Read-only

Field Key Description
Project Name R The name of the project to generate task-driven resource requests for.
Account R Lookup to the account on the project.
Region/Practice/Group R Lookup to the RPGAbbreviation of region, practice, group. on the project.

Generate Resource Requests/Held Resource Requests/Assignments Based On Section

This section allows you to select different attributes, which map to various fields on the source project tasks and project task assignments, to base the task-driven resource requests or assignments on.

Your administrator can edit the "pta_fieldset_to_split _resource_request" setting to modify the fields that appear in this section.

Key: D – Dependent field: you can only select together with another attribute.

Field Key Description
Resource Role Indicates whether or not to generate target resource requests based on the value of Resource Role on the source project task assignments.
External Resource Indicates whether or not to generate the resource requests based on the value of External Resource on the source project task assignments. Select this attribute together with Role.
Tip
If no value for Resource Role exists on the source project task assignments, you should add this before you attempt to generate resource requests using the External Resource and Role attributes.
Resource Indicates whether or not to generate target resource requests based on the value of (internal) Resource on the source project task assignments. If the resource also has a role, this will be used to populate the Role field on the target resource request.
Milestone D Indicates whether or not to generate the target resource requests based on the value of Milestone on the source project tasks.
Longest Gap Allowed (Days)   The duration of the longest gap permitted between consecutive project task assignments before a single resource request is divided into two. Weekends are treated as working days unless you also select "Ignore Saturdays" or "Ignore Sundays".
Ignore Saturdays   When calculating the duration of the gap(s) between consecutive project task assignments, these settings control whether or not weekends are ignored or considered.

Generated Resource Requests to Save or Discard Section

This section allows you to review the quantity, suggested field values and proposed financial impact of the resource requests before saving them to the project. Depending on the options you select, not all fields may be visible.

Key: R – Read-only

Field Key Description
[Checkbox]   Indicates whether the generated resource request will be saved (selected) or discarded (deselected) after you click Save.
Resource Role R The auto-generated resource role proposed for the resource request.
Suggested Resource R The auto-generated suggested resource proposed for the resource request.
Milestone R The auto-generated milestones proposed for the resource request.
Requested Hours R The auto-generated number of requested hours proposed for the resource request.
Hours * Avg Cost Rate R Projected resourcing cost. This field populates based on the rate card for the auto-generated Resource Role.
Hours * Suggested Bill Rate R Projected billable amount. This field populates based on the rate card for the auto-generated Resource Role.
Start Date R The auto-generated start date proposed for the resource request.
End Date R The auto-generated end date proposed for the resource request.
Notes R Shows auto-generated suggested resources for the resource request. This field only has a value if: the source project task assignments do not have a resource; and you choose attributes other than Resource on which to generate resource requests.
Resource to Assign R The resource to be assigned on generating the task-driven assignment.
Cost R The default cost rate of the assigned resource.
Bill R A zero bill rate for the assignment.

Buttons

Button Description
Preview Resource Requests/ Held Resource Requests/Assignments Displays one or more resource requests to generate. The button may be unavailable depending on the status of the page.
Generate Generates the selected previewed resource requests, saving new records in your organizationA deployment of the Salesforce/FinancialForce applications with a defined set of licensed users. Your organization includes all of your data and applications, and is separate from all other organizations.. The button may be unavailable depending on the status of the page.
Reset Returns the page to its initial state. Discards any generated resource requests and selects all attribute checkboxes.
Cancel Closes the Generate Resource Requests from Project Task Assignments page without generating any resource requests.
