Viewing the Critical Path

Tip:

Tasks that do not contribute to the critical path are faded but still editable when viewing the critical path of your project. We recommend that you make changes to your project with the critical path hidden.

To view the critical pathThe longest path of planned activities to the end of the project. This shows the earliest and latest each task can start and finish without making the project longer. This is the shortest time in which the project can be completed. of your project:

  1. In Project Task Gantt, choose a project from the Select Project picklist.
  2. Click Critical Path.
  3. To hide the critical path and restore the Schedule pane to the original view, click Critical Path.
