Project Task Gantt Settings and Preferences

General Settings

Setup and security settings for Project Task Gantt are contained in the Project Task Gantt Settings custom setting.

Key: * – Mandatory field

Field   Description
Always Allow Breaking Locks   When a project is locked for editing, determines whether users in your organization are given the option to edit the project and force the other user into view only mode.
Columns Field Set   Defines the API name of a field set on the project task object. This field set determines the columns available on the tasks pane of Project Task Gantt. The default value is Gantt_Columns. Clear the value to disable the custom columns feature.

You can include lookups, picklists, and picklists with multi-select in custom columns.

Picklists and lookups included in custom columns do not show symbols indicating columns contain picklists or lookups. To access the picklist or lookup, double-click the custom column and select or enter values accordingly.

Note that lookups in custom columns do not have filters to limit to relevant data. Lookups added in a custom column in the Schedule pane display all lookups from all Projects.

Note
Dependent picklists and mutliple-target (polymorphic) lookups (such as an Owner field) are not currently fully-supported in custom columns.
Read Only Field Set   The API name of a field set on a project task containing fields that are not editable in Project Task Gantt. The default setting is "Actual Hours".
Save Column Preferences   Determines whether user customizations to the width, order and visibility of columns are remembered when using Project Task Gantt. This setting is selected by default.

This setting is dependent on a field set being defined on the "Columns Field Set" setting.
Show "Create Resource Demand" Button   Determines whether the Create Resource Demand button is visible on the toolbar.
Show Hours Completion % in Task Bar   Determines if the hours complete percentage shows in the task bar display in the Schedule pane.

This setting does not control the display of the %Hrs button in the Schedule pane.
Show Points Completion % in Task Bar   Determines if the points complete percentage shows in the task bar display in the Schedule pane. This setting is selected by default.

This setting does not control the display of the %Pts button in the Schedule pane.

User Preferences

Preferences for individual customizations to the appearance and behavior of Project Task Gantt are contained in the Project Task Gantt Preferences custom setting.

Note
If you use single-click task selection, users can only select multiple tasks in the task pane by selecting non-editable columns.
