Viewing the Critical Path

To view the critical pathThe longest path of planned activities to the end of the project. This shows the earliest and latest each task can start and finish without making the project longer. This is the shortest time in which the project can be completed. of your project:

  1. If it is not already selected, choose the project that you want to manage from the Show drop-down list.
  2. Click Show Critical Path.
    Warning
    Although tasks that do not form part of the critical path are faded in this view, they are still editable. We recommend that you hide the critical path before making changes.

To restore the Schedule pane to the original view, click Hide Critical Path.
